NALLI BIRYANI: DO YOU LOVE TO EAT RICE? MAKE THEM NUTRITIOUS TOO
NALLI BIRYANI, a very popular and delicious dish in Pakistan nowadays
Ingredients:
Meat: ½
Kg
Nalli (bone marrow): ½
Kg
Rice: 1 Kg
Salt: to
taste
Ginger garlic paste: 2
tablespoon
Onion: 3
medium
Yogurt: 1
cup
Tomatoes: 3
medium
Crushed red pepper: 1
tablespoon
Crushed coriander: 1
tablespoon
Nutmeg & mace: ½
teaspoon
Large cardamom: ¼
teaspoon
Small cardamom: 3
pieces
Dried Plum: 4
to 5 pieces
Green Peppers: 3
to 4 pieces
Coriander: ½
cup
Mint: As
required
Milk: ½
cup
Yellow color: ½
teaspoon
Cooking oil: ½
cup
PROCEDURE:
Wash the meat and NELLI (bone marrow)
Put it in a bowl and marinate with ginger, garlic, salt, red
pepper, crushed coriander, and yogurt.
Fry finely chopped onion in cooking oil till golden and add
chopped tomatoes and cook on low heat.
When the tomatoes are done, add the marinated meat and cook
on low heat until the meat is melted (in the meantime if the water is dry, add
another cup of water).
Boil the rice in salted water.
Wash the plums and soak them in half a cup of water and add
them along with the green chilies when the meat is done.
Put the meat in a wide pan and put finely chopped
coriander and mint on it, then add boiled rice and add yellow color mixed in
milk and finally sprinkle crushed cardamom and nutmeg on very very low heat for 10 to 12
minutes.
